The Sheridan Yellowjackets (1-0) took down the Mountain Home Blue Bombers 34-7 Friday night for Head Coach Lance Parker's first win.

The Yellowjackets scored 14 points in the first quarter and 20 points in the third to secure the victory.

Sheridan quarterback Stephon Thomas went 5/10 passing for 95 yards and one touchdown. The Yellowjackets scored three touchdowns on the ground as Korte Montana recorded two touchdowns and Lucas Aiden carried the ball 11 times for 141 yards and one touchdown.

Ruston Johson hauled in a 26-yard receiving touchdown.

The McGehee Owls fell short to the Magnolia Panthers 27-16 in their season opener Friday night.

The Panthers struck first and led 13-8 at halftime. The Owls connected for a 15-yard passing touchdown to put themselves on the board in the first half.

Although McGehee senior Keuntai Reed recorded a 67-yard rushing touchdown in the third, the Panthers tacked on 14 more points to their lead to take full control.

Magnolia senior running back Kadyn Roach recorded three rushing touchdowns with the longest being an 84 yarder.
