A 7-year-old Pine Bluff girl was shot at around 8 p.m. while inside a vehicle that was stopped at a red light at 28th Avenue and Catalpa Street, according to the Pine Bluff Police Department.
The girl was struck in the arm and leg, according to a PBPD news release, which categorized her injuries as "minor non-life threatening wounds."
She was taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center where she was treated and released.
The news release said that the child was in a vehicle with her grandparents, which was next to a Chevrolet Avalanche. Inside the Chevy, an altercation occurred, and a gun was fired after a passenger got out of the vehicle and ran, police said.
The passenger was located, and police discovered he had been shot in the hand. Detectives are questioning him to try and determine who is responsible for the shooting.
