Fort Smith police are searching for women believed to have passed counterfeit checks over the past several months.

The women have used stolen identities to create and pass the checks. The identities used are associated with addresses in Fort Smith, Pocola, Tulsa and Sherwood. When asked for identification, the suspects have presented an image from their cellphones displaying fake identifications, according to a Police Department news release.

Police have associated a white Pontiac Grand Am and a silver four-door Pontiac passenger car with these incidents, the release states.

Anyone with information about these incidents or the suspects or their locations is asked to call the Police Department at (479) 709-5100 or Crime Stoppers at 78-CRIME.
