Retired Army Col. Curtis Cook, a member of the Pine Bluff Military and Veterans Museum board, receives the United States flag from 101-year-old veteran Sigfried Johnson at the Veterans Day Program. Cook was the guest speaker at the event honoring veterans Nov. 9 at Whispering Knoll and The Gardens at Whispering Knoll assisted living facilities. Cook presented Johnson with a Gold World War II coin. ‘All the veterans received baseball caps with the flag on them, coffee cups and 100,000 candy bar, because we think their service is worth this much,’ a spokeswoman said in a news release.
