St. John AME Church, 1117 W. Pullen St., will celebrate its 146th anniversary at 11 a.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Leodis Strong of St. Mark AME Church at Tuscaloosa, Ala. Following the service, the Pioneer Wall, dedicated to outstanding members, will be unveiled in the fellowship hall.

Jerusalem No. 1 Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer will host an appreciation program at 2:30 p.m. Sunday honoring Dorothy Hunter for 60 years of service to the city of Altheimer, at home and the Central District Tabernacle. The speaker will be Rev. Theodis Shelton, pastor of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church at Pine Bluff. The True Gospel Aires will sing.


Cherry Street AME Zion Church, 800 E. Cherry St., will host the Pine Bluff Community Choir’s "Songs of Praise 48 Concert" at 3 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free. The interracial, mixed denominational group of Christian women sings songs of praise and thanksgiving to God. Concerts are held at a different church each fifth Sunday.

Summit Baptist Church, 901 Ridgway Road, will host the Kinsmen in concert at 6 p.m. Sunday. The group has been singing Southern Gospel music for 29 years. Members include Mark Little, Gary Newton, Bill Hankins and Gerald Williams.

The Holcomb Family will be in concert at 6 p.m. Sunday at Hardin Baptist Church, Highway 270 and Todd Lynn Drive at White Hall.

Prairie Lake Missionary Baptist Church, 2611 Indiana St., will sponsor the Inspiration/Youth Choir Reunion 2014 at 3 p.m. Sunday, directed by Rev. Micheal E. Williams Sr., pastor of Family Time Baptist Church and Ministries.
