Dominique Swygert will be giving her first sermon and will be licensed as a minister at House of Bread Deliverance Church, 500 S. Main St., Sunday at 3 p.m. Swygert, a 2014 graduate of Pine Bluff High School, will attend the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff this fall.

Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 900 Grant St., will hold its annual ushers’ day at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Wiley Shelton, pastor of Motley Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.

At 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, a musical benefit in honor of CloDean Miller, who has been ill, will be held at Mount Tabor Missionary Baptist Church at Wilmar, where she is a member. Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School will be conducted at Freedom Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.

The Church of God, 7111 Shannon Road, will host Vacation Bible School from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday through Friday for ages 4-12.
