Pine Bluff police are continuing their investigation into the shooting death of a man Thursday morning, but so far, no arrests have been made and no motive established for the slaying.

Lt. David Price said Friday that the department’s Detective Division is continuing to follow up on leads in the death of Dametrick McDaniel, 25, who was found inside an apartment at 2600 S. Beech St. after McDaniel’s 3-year-old daughter knocked at the door of another apartment just after midnight.

Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelley pronounced McDaniel dead at 12:53 a.m. and listed the cause of death as a gunshot wound to the upper body.

The child was turned over to the Department of Human Services.

Brandon McClatchie, 23, is wanted for questioning in the incident.

Anyone with information about McClatchie should contact the Detective Division at 730-2090 or the dispatch center at 541-5300, and all calls will be kept confidential.

The shooting death was the third recorded inside the Pine Bluff city limits this month and police have made arrests in the other two cases.
