A man accused of robbing at least two banks in Little Rock and Benton this week was arrested Thursday in Jefferson County.

Sheriff’s office operations commander and public information officer Major Lafayette Woods Jr. said Keyontae Johnson, 18, of Pine Bluff was driving a car that was stopped by sheriff’s deputies and White Hall Police on White Hall Road, just north of U.S. 270 Thursday afternoon.

Two additional suspects — Cameron Arnold, 29, and Taquesha Gray, age unavailable, both of Pine Bluff — who were in a car in front of the one Johnson was driving were also detained and taken to Little Rock for questioning, Woods said.

Johnson was linked to the robbery of the U.S. Bank branch on Kavanaugh Road in Little Rock on Tuesday and the robbery of the Bank of the Ozarks branch on Highway 35 in Benton on Thursday.

After the robbery at Benton, police there and in Little Rock received information that the getaway vehicle was a grey/silver Ford Taurus four-door passenger car with a temporary license tag and a local used car dealer license plate frame. That description was broadcast statewide and Benton and Little Rock police located the vehicle and followed it into Jefferson County where it was stopped.

Video surveillance photos that were released following one of the robberies led to tips linking Johnson to it, Woods said.

He said Johnson is out on bond after being charged with first-degree battery in 2013.

An investigation into the incidents is continuing, Woods said.
