A Pine Bluff man wanted in connection with a Christmas night shooting was arrested early Saturday morning.

According to the intake log at the adult detention center, Randy Carter, 23, was booked in at 12:40 a.m. and is being held on probable cause of first-degree battery pending an expected court appearance Monday.

Carter was identified as a suspect in the shooting of Marquez Strong, 21, who was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head on the front porch of a house at 315. E. 21st Ave., after police responded to a report of shots fired at 9:10 p.m.

On Thursday, Police Chief Jeff Hubanks said Strong was taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center, then sent to a Little Rock hospital were he was listed in critical condition.

The intake log also showed that Terrance Harris, 33, was booked in two minutes after Carter and is being held on felony probable cause of hindering apprehension or prosecution.

No further details were immediately available on the arrests or on Strong’s condition.
