“The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him,” Psalm 28:7.

In a world full of uncertainties there is one person that we can count on to help us stand strong in the midst of our struggles — and that is the Lord.

When life seems to throw everything at us to take us out, we can find strength in the Lord through his word. His word reminds us every day, all day, that when we give our lives to God we become heirs with Jesus Christ.

Therefore, because of that inheritance we are redeemed from the hand of the enemy and we become children of the most high God. We become saved from a world that seems to want to take us out at every turn.

But, God’s word reminds us that we are strong in the Lord and in the power of His might (Ephesians 6:10) and that we can overcome everything through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13).

God’s word never said that we would not go through some things, but in the midst of it all, we can encourage ourselves in the Lord, because he is the source of our strength and he is the shield that protects us when the fiery darts of the enemy comes against us.

The Lord is our present help in the midst of our storms. Therefore, we cannot help but praise him through the good and through the bad, because in the end Romans 8:28 encourages us by reminding us “…that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose.”

So, through the storm and through the rain we lift up our voices and sing to the Lord. We find ourselves praising the Lord from the depths of our souls, not only because he gave us strength, not only because he is our shield from dangers seen and unseen, but because of him just being him, our Lord, our savior, our master and our redeemer.

When you find yourself going through a storm, don’t forget to trust in the Lord with all your heart and might. Remember that he said in his word that “you are more than conquerors.” Also, remember to cast all your cares on Christ, because he can carry the load.

So, I encourage and challenge all of you to, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, mind and soul!”
