The Arkansas Federation of Democratic Women will hold its 4th District Conference from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Harbor Oaks Country Club.

The Arkansas Federation of Democratic Women will hold its 4th District Conference from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Harbor Oaks Country Club.

The guest speaker will be Gary Moody, state director of the Barack Obama Campaign for President. Also speaking on the impact women can have on an election and the importance of their participation in a political campaign will be Jan Paschal, president of Arkansas Federation of Democratic Women.

The program will include a song by Jefferson County Judge Mike Holcomb and a skit by Linda Simmons called “Portrait of a Patriotic Song”. Special guests at the event will include Mayor Carl Redus, state Sen. Stephanie Flowers, state Rep. James Word, state Rep. Efrem Elliot, state Rep. Toni Bradford, and Jefferson County Assessor Yvonne Humphrey.

The cost of the conference is $20, which includes a continental breakfast provided by Dustin McDaniel and a buffet lunch.

The Jefferson County organization of Democratic Women will serve as host for the event. Members and non-members are welcome to attend but need to make reservations by calling Becky Robinson at 870-692-4811 or Mary Whiteaker at 870-247-2880.
