The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, 701 Main St., will hold "Art with Belinda Lawson" beginning Thursday and continuing each Thursday through Feb. 21. No class will be held Feb. 14.
The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, 701 Main St., will hold “Art with Belinda Lawson” beginning Thursday and continuing each Thursday through Feb. 21. No class will be held Feb. 14.
Classes will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The cost of the class is $85 for members and $105 for non-members.
The class will consist of basic acrylic painting on canvas or Masonite board. Lessons will incorporate basic acrylic painting techniques using various artist styles, with the artist history. Artists included are Van Gogh, Gustav Klimt and Pablo Picasso.
Materials needed for the class include notebook (optional), pencil, paint shirt or cover and three canvases (stretched or board, minimum size 11-by-14). All paint and brushes will be supplied by ASC.
The center is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 1-4 p.m. Saturday, and is closed on Sunday. Support for ASC is provided in part by the Arkansas Arts Council, an agency of the Department of Arkansas Heritage, and the National Endowment for the Arts. Hands-on science exhibits are offered through the center’s partnership with Arkansas Discovery Network, a consortium of seven museums in Arkansas funded by the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation.
