Grace Willing Workers met recently at Centennial Fellowship Church.

The meeting was called to order by President Debbie James. She welcomed 24 members and four visitors. Three of the visitors joined the club.

Lucy Meeks gave the thought of the day: “Don’t want to exercise? Fine. Go to work in your yard or flower bed about 30 minutes. You’ll be surprised at how much exercise you get.”

The Homemaker’s Creed was read by Bettye Johnson. The handy hint for the day was: “Watch portion sizes to maintain good weight and health.” The inspiration was read by Doris Turberville: Proverbs 16:26 — “The laborer’s appetite works for him; his hunger drives him on.”

Sabrina Self-Gwin called the roll by asking each member and visitor to tell how they practice healthy eating and fitness. The minutes from the previous meeting were given by Self-Gwin and approved. The treasurer’s report was given by Connie Herrin and approved. The program, “How food and fitness fit together” was given by Nancy Rosen.

The club met on Nov. 14 to make razorback Christmas ornaments, and on Nov. 15 to stuff teaching dolls for Arkansas Children’s Hospital. The club has made a total of 230 hats so far. Barbara Stone has already made two deliveries of hats. Another delivery is planned for Dec. 16.

Kaye Richardson reported that 134 canned food items have been donated to the Transformation Food Pantry thus far. The goal is 500 canned goods by June 2012.

Grace Willing Workers is now on Facebook. Log on to Grace Willing Workers EHC of Jefferson County to check out the home page.

The program for the next meeting will be the club’s Christmas Party. Hostesses will be Self-Gwin, Johnson and Verneita Self.
