The 2013 Pine Bluff High School art exhibition opened in the Simmons Gallery at the Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas with a reception Thursday.

The 2013 Pine Bluff High School art exhibition opened in the Simmons Gallery at the Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas with a reception Thursday.

Entitled Teen Life: Expressions of Pine Bluff High School, the exhibit is sponsored by Pine Bluff Sand and Gravel Co. and will be displayed through July 3.

This yearís exhibition features 20 to 30 pieces of student work including Arkansas Young Artistís Association awarded work.

Eleventh grade art student Ashley Gragg took first prize in the Colored Pencil Expressive category, while senior art student Michael Shelton took first prize in the First Year Black and White Reproduction category in March. Both Gragg and Sheltonís awarded work are featured in the exhibition.

Art instructor and Art Club sponsor Virginia Hymes accompanied the group of students to the association meeting where awards were announced and Lenore Shoults, director of the arts center received the Patron of the Arts award.
