The business meeting was held in the home of Avis Hood. Kathey Wooley and Sandra Malone were co-hostesses.

Wooley gave the thought for the day on “Tranquility”.

Brown announced that $164 million has been donated to St. Jude Hospital by ESA since 1972 and the annual bunko fundraiser benefiting St. Jude Hospital would be held at a later date. She reported that the Arkansas fall council will be at the Country Inn in Conway on Sept. 22-23 and the South Eastern regional meeting will be held in Memphis at the Marriot on Nov. 2.

Wooley, state Easter Seals chairman, reported than several members would be participating in Rolling on the River in Little Rock on Sept. 2.

Barbara Taylor, philanthropic chairman, presented proposed projects for the year including the Red Cross, Salvation Amy, Jenkins Center, Easter Seals, St. Jude Hospital, Muscular Dystrophy and civic projects.

Ways and means chairman, Wanda Waring, announced that a concession stand would be manned for the rodeo parade in September.

After the closing ritual, refreshments of dips, cake and cookies were enjoyed.
