The 23rd annual Christmas Gala, hosted by Simmons First National Bank, held recently at the Pine Bluff Country Club, was attended by 300 Classic Club members.

According to Calvin Tichy, regional vice president, this is the bank’s gift to the members each year at Christmas time.

The large round tables were set with white tablecloths and red napkins. Each table’s centerpiece was a tall cylinder vase accented with fresh flowers and water gems of alternating colors of red and green. Fresh greenery and assorted Christmas ornaments completed the base of the centerpiece. The guests were served a traditional Christmas dinner of turkey, dressing, green beans, sweet potatoes, hot rolls, and pecan pie for dessert.

Tichy awarded birthday prizes for November and December birthdays. The lucky winners were Eva Glover, Pete Ahlgrim, Becky Simmons and John Dailey. Door prizes were won by Vernon Blake, Mary Ann Kulbeth and Merecedes Cass. Tichy also had prizes for Christmas attire that were won by Maxine Malone and Alton Glover.

The Classic Club’s new director, Misti Smykla, was introduced. Smykla will begin her duties as director on Jan. 3.

Everyone attending seemed to enjoy the evening and started the holiday season off in good spirits. Others attending from Simmons and assisting Tichy were Theresa Herring, Susan Lambert, Debbie Smith, Brian Montgomery, Irene Graham, Pam Johnson, Diane Pruitt, Liz Ellis, Pam Keeter, Magnolia Rogers and Ann Henderson.
