The Boys and Girls Club of Jefferson County and the Sierra Club are hosting a town hall meeting and educational event about clean energy from 4-6:30 p.m Thursday.

The Boys and Girls Club of Jefferson County and the Sierra Club are hosting a town hall meeting and educational event about clean energy from 4-6:30 p.m Thursday.

Children’s activities will take place between 4-5:30 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club building, 2701 Short Reeker St. A panel discussion will follow from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Activities will include a solar-powered popcorn machine that will demonstrate how solar energy works and paintings by the children to send to Gov. Mike Beebe of their visions of clean energy.

Activities for the adults will include a panel discussion to provide input on Beebe’s energy plan.

The event is the final in a series of meetings held statewide.
