Express Employment Professionals hosted a lunch cookout for Neighbor to Neighbor on Friday to help with their cause of feeding the hungry and less fortunate in Pine Bluff.

The company has set aside a day of volunteerism known as “Brand It Blue Day.”

“Brand It Blue Day is a day each Express franchise can come together for one great cause to help the community,” said Becky Simpson, owner of the Pine Bluff office. “In celebration of the company’s 30th anniversary, Band It Blue Day is a chance for Express offices to honor to honor the communities that have supported us through the years by giving back.”

Now through Friday, June 14, Express is hosting a food drive at its office in Pine Bluff, 2608 S. Olive St., where non-perishable food items can be dropped off. The food will be donated to Neighbor to Neighbor. Express will also pick up any food donations and deliver them to Neighbor to Neighbor. Call 535-3330 to make arrangements.

Simpson says that Pine Bluff Neighbor to Neighbor was designated as the beneficiary of this campaign at the request of John Lawson, Express’s business development manager.

“I am fortunate enough to have the opportunity to serve on the Neighbor to Neighbor Board of Directors, which has really opened my eyes to how great of an impact this program has on our community,” Lawson said. “While there are many local organizations that unite to help those in need, I have personally been exposed to the endless work that Director Charlotte England, her employees and volunteers put into making a difference in areas that often go unnoticed. It feels great to contribute to their efforts and we encourage everyone that’s able to do the same because there is always a need for more food, more clothes and more volunteers.”
