Former National Football League wide receiver and Arkansas native Reggie Swinton has been named grand marshal for the annual Pine Bluff Christmas parade.

Former National Football League wide receiver and Arkansas native Reggie Swinton has been named grand marshal for the annual Pine Bluff Christmas parade.

The Jefferson County Civitan Club will hold its 64th annual parade at 6:30 p.m. Saturday on Main Street.

Swinton graduated from Little Rock Central High School and won All-State honors in football, basketball, baseball, and track.

Swinton has four career NFL kick returns for touchdowns, two on punt returns, two on kickoff returns with the Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Lions, Arizona Cardinals and the Houston Texans. He is married to Patricia Walker-Swinton and has four children.

This year’s Christmas parade theme is “Celebrate Christmas.” The event will be held in conjunction with the seventh annual Old Towne Christmas event scheduled from 4-6 p.m. Saturday at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Services Center, 211 W. Third Ave.

Sponsored by the Old Towne Committee for Reinventing Downtown Pine Bluff, the Old Towne Christmas activities will include visits with Santa, carriage rides, a balloon artist, magician and musical entertainment. The event is free to the public.
