The Office of Recruitment at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff will host its annual High School Day on Oct. 6 beginning at 2 p.m. with a day full of events for high school students and their parents.

According to Lee Hardman, director of recruitment, the goal of High School Day is to provide a campus experience for all high school students with the hope of encouraging them about going to college with special emphasis on coming to UAPB.

“The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff wants students to realize that all of their goals are attainable here,” said Hardman. “We want students to make the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff their choice for higher education.”

High School Day allows students to tour various parts of UAPB’s campus and the opportunity to speak with collegiate advisors personally in an effort to gain details about their desired major.

After speaking with advisors and/or deans from various departments the event will culminate with tailgating and football game when the Golden Lions will take on the Jackson State Tigers from Jackson, Miss.

Attendees are asked to come early for registration. For more information about High School Day at UAPB, contact the Office of Recruitment at 575-7176.
