Barraque Street Missionary Baptist Church and BreastCare will sponsor Pink Carnation Sunday Oct. 28 at 11 a.m.

This is a project that is coordinated by BreastCare, a program of the Arkansas Department of Health. Pink Carnation Sunday is designed to encourage and educate women about the importance of regular screenings for early detection of breast cancer, by asking all women 40 years of age and older to pledge to get a mammogram. BreastCare staff follows-up on all pledges.

Pink Carnation Sunday began in 2000 with 12 churches in three counties.
