U.S. Rep. Mike Ross (D-Prescott) on Thursday honored the late Edward “Ed” Fry, long-time congressional aide and chief of staff to three successive Arkansas Congressmen. Fry died of cancer Jan. 13.

Ross honored Fry in the U.S. Congressional Record – the official, permanent record of the proceedings in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Fry worked so hard on behalf of the state and the nation for more than 20 years that he eventually earned the honorary title of “Arkansas’s Fifth Congressman,”a spokesman said.

Ross also had an American flag flown over the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, D.C., in honor of Fry.
