The Rev. Jesse C. Turner, program coordinator of Pine Bluff Weed and Seed, and Derrick L. Newby Sr., president of Interested Citizens for Voter Registration Inc., recently attended a meeting in Washington, D.C.

The purpose of the meeting was to review the Weed and Seed National Evaluation Strategy. Coordinators and members of supporting organizations, such as ICVR, discussed ways to use the evaluation information to sustain Weed and Seed strategies across the nation.

The Community Capacity Development Office, a U.S. Department of Justice Office of Justice Program, and the Justice Research and Statistics Association selected Turner to attend.
