Simmons First Trust Company N.A recently announced the promotions of Chuck Tlapek to senior vice president and chief investment officer; Lloyd Franques to vice president and trust officer of the El Dorado Trust Group; and Kelton Harrison to vice president and investment officer of the Ft. Smith Trust and Investments Group; according to Joe Clement, president of Simmons First Trust Company.

Simmons First Trust Company N.A recently announced the promotions of Chuck Tlapek to senior vice president and chief investment officer; Lloyd Franques to vice president and trust officer of the El Dorado Trust Group; and Kelton Harrison to vice president and investment officer of the Ft. Smith Trust and Investments Group; according to Joe Clement, president of Simmons First Trust Company.

Clement said, “Simmons First Trust Company is fortunate to have these three hard-working individuals as part of our Trust Company. They provide exceptional customer service to their customers and are very active in making a difference in the community and are most deserving of their recent promotions.”

Tlapek is a graduate of El Dorado High School, received his Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of Arkansas and attained his MBA from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Tlapek joined Simmons First Trust Company in 1992 and now has more than 20 years of service with Simmons First. He previously held the title of vice president and served as senior portfolio manager prior to being promoted to chief investment officer in 2002 and vice president and chief investment officer in 2003. In 2005, Chuck was selected as a member of the “Arkansas Business” 40 Under 40.

Tlapek currently serves in his community as an advisory director of the Pine Bluff Educational Endowment and is a member of the Pine Bluff Rotary Club where he served as president for the 2010-2011 term. He has served previously as chairman of finance for the St. Joseph Catholic Church and past president and member of the Board of Directors of the Pine Bluff Area Community Foundation, a volunteer for the United Way of Southeast Arkansas and the Jefferson County Unit of the American Cancer Society.

Franques holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, La., with a minor in marketing/management.

Franques joined Simmons First in 1998 as a consumer loan officer in the El Dorado market prior to joining Simmons First Trust Company as assistant vice president and trust account administrator in the El Dorado Trust office in 2003. In addition to his banking experience with Simmons First, Franques previously served in the market as an assistant vice president of Consumer Lending and worked in the insurance industry for seven years at Franques Insurance Agency.

Franques is active in his community through his involvement as a member of the Kiwanis Club Board and has previously served as a United Way loaned executive, the South Arkansas Symphony Board of Directors and helped build several pavilions at city parks in El Dorado and Union County as a volunteer with the Simmons First Adopt-A-Park Program in El Dorado.

Kelton Harrison is a Ft. Smith native and graduated from Southside High School prior to attending the University of Tulsa and receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and a Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance. Harrison went on to attend Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, where he received his MBA.

Harrison previously served as a Financial Paraplanner in both Dallas and Ft. Smith prior to joining Simmons First Trust Company in 2003 as a trust investment officer and portfolio manager in the Pine Bluff Trust Office. Harrison relocated to the Ft. Smith Trust Office in 2005 where he continues to serve.

Harrison has been active in his community through his previous volunteerism with the Ft. Symphony, North Arkansas Symphony, Project Compassion and the Young Emerging Leaders of Ft. Smith.
