Arkansas Gospel Music Heritage Month will present the grand finale Friday 7 p.m. at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff’s fine arts building.
The finale will feature Arkansas’ gospel groups including legendary artists and artists on the rise in a Live CD/DVD recording.
The audience can experience history in the making with appearances by the Crutcher Family, the Williams Singers, Chosen, Bethany Devine, the Gospel Sonz, Dedric Jones and Chosen Praise along with the Southeast Arkansas Mass Choir.
Arkansas Gospel Music Heritage Month will also be honoring the legacies of a late pastor, Gerald Thompson, and Gospel announcer, the late Donna Grady Creer, with special guest tributes by Kevin Davidson and Anthony Clark Williams (aka Tonex).
On Feb. 16, 2011, the Arkansas Legislature voted to recognize the month of September as Arkansas Gospel Music Heritage Month (AGMHM).
The mission of AGMHM is “to empower faith based communities to cross racial, ethnic, religious and geographical boundaries in gospel music and to emerge as one body.”

The finale Friday will include a pre-show at 6 p.m. featuring a Youth and Young Adult Showcase. The finale concert will be at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10. VIP Tickets ar3 $20 (includes seating and reception). Also, a late night Gospel Gala and Arkansas Artists Showcase will feature Tonex. Admission is $10.
