Workers were leveling dirt to prepare for the pouring of concrete for a new sidewalk at the historic Boone-Murphy home on Fourth Avenue on Thursday. The house was originally located at 702 W. Second Ave. and served as Union headquarters during the Civil War. The third phase of its remodeling will include placement of a handicap entry at the back of the structure and some interior cabinet work, a spokesman said.
