The Pine Bluff Corps of the Salvation Army was the beneficiary last week of a substantial donation from children participating in the summer vacation Bible school program at First Baptist Church in Pine Bluff.

“The children made 50 personal hygiene kits and donated them to the Salvation Army along with a check for $310.67 made up of money collected by the children,” said Captain David A. Leonard of the Pine Bluff Corps. “We will distribute the kits to individuals coming into our shelter. The children wrote a personal note of encouragement and scripture verse for each kit made.

“I have not seen a better kit nor a more Christlike relational ministry outreach in a very long time,” Leonard said. “The money that they raised for us is simply amazing.”
