Two veteran members of the Pine Bluff Fire and Emergency Services Department have been promoted, according to Chief Shauwn Howell.

Two veteran members of the Pine Bluff Fire and Emergency Services Department have been promoted, according to Chief Shauwn Howell.

Howell said Lt. John Reed has been promoted to captain, and Engineer Jerry Garganeous has been promoted to lieutenant.

Reed, a 26-year department veteran, is a 1982 graduate of White Hall High School. He attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello and Southern Arkansas University pursuing a computer science degree, and is a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician.

He is married to Kimberly Reed and they have two children.

Garganeous is also a 26-year department veteran and a 1976 graduate of Pine Bluff High School. He is certified as a Hazardous Materials Technician and is a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician. He was a recipient of a 2010 Life Saving Accommodation Award.

He has been married to Ramona Garganeous for 34 years and they have two children.
