Friday is the deadline to submit applications for entrance into the program. The program slated July 5 Aug. 10 assists students admitted to UAPB for the fall semester who have ACT scores below 19 in English and/or math and are required to take remedial courses.

Sponsored by the University College, there are spaces for 100 freshmen, according to Janice Coleman, program coordinator.

Applications to the LIONS program should be accompanied by admission to UAPB, campus housing and a completed FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for the Summer (2011-2012) and Fall (2012-2013) semesters. Details: Call 575-8335.
