Presented by JRMC with proceeds to benefit JLPB, the 5K and Kiddie K races will be fun for the entire family. Runners and walkers who pre-register by Thursday receive a discounted entry fee of $20 and are guaranteed a T-shirt. The registration fee will be $25 beginning Friday. A virtual runner option (T-shirt only) is also available for $15.

The registration fee for the Kiddie K races is $10, which includes a T-shirt if registered by Thursday. Additional shirts will be available for registrants after Thursday on a first come/first served basis.

Kiddie K races will be held on the JRMC Wellness Center track beginning at 9 a.m. Ages 5 and under will run approximately ¼ mile (1/2 lap on track); ages 6-9 will run approximately ½ mile (one lap on track); and ages 10-12 will run approximately 1 mile (two laps on track). Awards will be given to the first place overall boy and girl in each race, and all participants will receive a medal. Additional activities for kids include a bouncy house, fire truck, face painting and law enforcement demonstrations.

Billy Coble of KTRN 104.5 FM will provide entertainment and music for the event. Security on the race course will be provided by the Pine Bluff Police Department and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

Participants may register at both JRMC Wellness Centers in Pine Bluff and White Hall. Mail-in entry forms may be printed from www.arkansasrunner.com or from www.jrmc.org. Online registration is available at www.signmeup.com (processing fee applies). Participants may also register on the day of the race beginning at 7 a.m.

JLPB’s primary project for the past three years has been to reduce child hunger in Jefferson County through the backpack food program. Through a partnership with the Arkansas Rice Depot, JLPB distributes backpacks filled with healthy and easy-to-prepare foods to children in need throughout the school year, as well as spring break and holidays. The race committee is currently working on getting a can of food donated for every mile run or walked to benefit the local food pantries.
