The Arkansas First Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ will hold its Auxiliaries in Ministry June 11-15 at the Pine Bluff Convention Center with more than 500 delegates.

The Arkansas First Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ will hold its Auxiliaries in Ministry June 11-15 at the Pine Bluff Convention Center with more than 500 delegates.

The convention will also feature a special guest on Thursday evening, Karen Clark-Sheard, a national evangelist of the Church of God in Christ Inc. and a recording artist.

Under the leadership of Arkansas First Jurisdictional Bishop Jewel R. Withers and Elder Cedric Smith, Jurisdictional AIM Chairman, the mission of AIM is to advance kingdom work through spiritual enrichment, in-depth training, Christian education, family fellowship, evangelism and discipleship.

The host superintendent is Joe L. Stocker of Pine Bluff No. 1 and the district Supervisor of the Womenís Ministry is Wanda Jones.

The combined conventions of music and youth, missions and evangelism and Sunday School will bring together people of all ages. Auxiliaries meet daily in empowerment sessions with all convening each midday and evening.

Activities also include scholastic motivation, Bible Bowl, spelling bee competitions, math, drill teams, along with tours of key recreational and education sites throughout Pine Bluff and hands-on exposure to workforce related skills.

The morning speakers are Minnie Hill and Karl Barnes, youth department, on Tuesday and Wednesday; Dedric Jones, music department, on Thursday; and the presidentís appreciation on Friday.

Mid-day speakers include Richard Harper, missions department, Tuesday; Letha Walker-Richardson, evangelist department, Wednesday; Leato Walker Jr., Sunday School, Thursday; Alvin Coleman Jr., music department, Friday.

The noon worship service also includes mini-seminars on Transformation Finance. Clarissa Pace, Shekinah Services of Monticello, will present several topics including minimizing taxes and debt elimination.

Speakers for the evening service include Thursday, Karen Clark-Sheard, a national evangelist and recording artist. Other speakers include Fred Lee, missions, Monday; Linda Diggins, Sunday School, Tuesday; Oliver Smith, evangelist department, Wednesday; Bishop Withers/Cedric Smith, jurisdictional prelate and AIM Chairman, Friday. Special guest featured at the late night musical on Friday is Carolyn Traylor.

Also, a press conference will be held June 12 at 9 a.m. at the convention center where the leaders will make a major presentation to two service agencies in Pine Bluff as part of the conventionís service and outreach ministries. To be announced also is a technology lab, daily focusing on apprenticeship for people 16 and older seeking a career change and/or underemployed.
