A Pine Bluff man was sentenced to six years in prison Friday night after being found guilty of murder in the shooting death of another man last year.

A Pine Bluff man was sentenced to six years in prison Friday night after being found guilty of murder in the shooting death of another man last year.

Michael A. Thomas, 29, was convicted of second-degree murder in the April 9, 2011, death of Archie Kendrell Kirklin,24, on the parking lot of the Speedway convenience store at 2504 S. Cherry St.

Thomas will have to serve half of the six-year sentence less good time before he is eligible to apply for parole. He will also get credit for the time he was held in the adult detention center awaiting trial.
