One person was injured and transported by ambulance from the scene of a two-vehicle accident around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of West Second Avenue and Walnut Street in Pine Bluff.

The collision occurred within the intersection. It appeared that a Cadillac Escalade was being driven northward on Walnut while a Chevrolet passenger car was being driven westward on Second when the accident occurred. Stops signs are posted on Second.

The front of the Chevrolet and the right front of the Cadillac appeared to have sustained heavy damages. A woman who had apparently been driving the Cadillac was removed from the vehicle and loaded onto a stretcher and aboard a waiting ambulance.

A police officer at the scene said the injury appeared to be minor. Apparently, no one was injured in the Chevrolet. Fluids from the vehicles leaked across the roadway. A Pine Bluff Fire and Emergency Services Department fire engine was dispatched to the scene, and PBESD personnel helped in curtailing the fluid spill, and assisting the accident victims.

Both streets were blocked and additional traffic was directed away.

Additional information was not immediately available.
