BANKS — An 84-year-old Bradley County woman was killed in a one-vehicle traffic accident Wednesday afternoon.

Neomi Johnson of Banks was west bound on Highway 278, east of Banks, when she lost control of the 2007 Toyota Camry she was driving and struck a concrete marker and a tree, according to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police.

Bradley County Coroner Mark Huggins pronounced Johnson dead at the scene.

The accident was reported at 3:30 p.m. Trooper Gregory Rowland said in the report that the weather was clear and the roadway dry at the time.

The death was the 260th recorded on the state’s highways this year.
