A reported fight between a brother and sister Monday resulted in the arrest of the woman on domestic battery charges.

Alisha Watson, 19, who is on probation after pleading guilty to criminal mischief earlier this year, got into an altercation with her younger brother at a home on Violet Drive, Deputy Prosecutor Bryan Achorn said during a court hearing for Watson on Tuesday.

Watson reportedly told police that the brother had “jumped on her,” and showed police a scratch on her left wrist, but Achorn said other witnesses in the house said Watson started the fight and scratched herself on the wrist.

Police reported that the younger brother, whose name was not released because he is a minor, had a scratch on the neck and a busted lip.

Because of the age of the victim, Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney ruled that prosecutors had probable cause to charge Watson with second-degree domestic battery.

Kearney set a $15,000 bond for Watson, ordered her to have no contact with her brother until the case is settled and told her to come back to court July 17.
