An alleged dispute that had been going on for five years led to the arrest of a man Saturday after he allegedly pointed a gun at a woman.

Adrian Anderson, 31, reportedly admitted pointing the gun, Deputy Prosecutor Maxie Kizer said during a court hearing Tuesday for Anderson.

Detective Steven Rucker reported that the female victim said she was driving to work when Anderson jumped in front of her car and pointed a gun at her.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $25,000 bond for Anderson, who Kizer said had no prior convictions or pending charges, after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge him with aggravated assault.

Anderson, who said he would hire his own attorney, was also told to have no contact with the woman until the case is settled, and to come back to court July 24.
