A reported theft from a dollar store on East Harding Avenue last week was apparently solved when a man walked into the police detective office and turned himself in.

A reported theft from a dollar store on East Harding Avenue last week was apparently solved when a man walked into the police detective office and turned himself in.

Mack Jordan, 43, reportedly admitted taking the cash from the Family Dollar at 1607 E. Harding Ave., Deputy Prosecutor Maxie Kizer said during a court hearing Tuesday for Jordan.

Detective Marsha Oliver reported that the manager of the store told police a male had taken cash from a register Feb. 11. then left in an unknown direction.

Jordan surrendered to detectives Saturday.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $5,000 bond for Jordan after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge him with breaking or entering.

Kearney appointed the Public Defenderís Office to represent Jordan and told him to come back to court April 17.
