Police arrested an adult and three juveniles who were allegedly involved in taking several items from the room of a woman staying at the Ramada Plaza hotel on Saturday.

Detective Kevin Patterson reported that Derrick Boyd, 22, waived his right to an attorney and admitted entering the room with two of the juveniles, Deputy Prosecutor Maxie Kizer said during a court hearing for Boyd Monday.

Kizer said the woman told police she had taken a child to the swimming pool and discovered the keys to her room were missing.

The woman reported that a Play Station, games, laptop computer and other items had been taken from her room, Patterson said in a probable cause affidavit.

Boyd and the three juveniles were arrested a short time later, and Boyd told officers they had taken the items to a house on the east side of Pine Bluff.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $2,500 bond for Boyd, who Kizer said had no prior convictions or pending charges, after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge him with commercial burglary and theft of property.

The three juveniles were also arrested. Because of their ages, their names were not released.

Boyd told the judge he would hire his own attorney and was told to come back to court Aug. 20.
