A report of a possible theft in progress Friday resulted in the arrest of two men found inside a storage shed on South Cedar Street.

Baruacus Brock, 19, and Lavelle Smith, 28, reportedly told police they were looking for scrap metal to sell, Deputy Prosecutor Maxie Kizer said during a court hearing Tuesday.

Kizer said the two men went into the storage shed through a broken window and were still there when police arrived.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $5,000 bond for both Brock and Smith after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge them with breaking or entering, and told them to come back to court July 24.
