After following a blood trail to her residence, Pine Bluff police arrested a woman who allegedly stabbed a man Thursday night.

Maxie Gaddy, 56, allegedly stabbed Ricky Lowe after the two had been involved in an argument, Deputy Prosecutor Maxie Kizer said Friday during a court hearing for Gaddy.

Detective Larry Gailey reported that police were sent to the 5500 block of Cheatham Street at 6:15 p.m. where they found Lowe bleeding from wounds to his shoulder and back.

Kizer said police followed the blood trail to a house on Pryce Street where they found blood on the front porch and when Gaddy opened the door, they saw blood inside the door.

Gaddy reportedly told police Lowe “jumped on her and started beating her,” then “knocked her down and she did not remember what happened next.”

Kizer said there was “alcohol involved” in the dispute between the two.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $25,000 bond for Gaddy after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge her with second-degree domestic battery.

Bridgforth also ordered Gaddy to have no contact with Lowe, who was also arrested on misdemeanor domestic battery charges, until the case is settled.

The Public Defender’s Office was appointed to represent Gaddy and she was told to come back to court Aug. 17.
