A Camden man was killed in a one-vehicle accident in Dallas County early Wednesday morning.

Dallas County Coroner Tom Kidwell pronounced James Bradshaw, 47, dead at the scene at 3 a.m.

Trooper Frank Remick reported that the accident occurred on Arkansas Highway 9 at Holly Springs and said the roadway was wet because of mist and rain.

A preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police said Bradshaw died when he lost control of the 1988 Pontiac Bonneville he was driving while attempting a left hand curve, with the car leaving the roadway and striking a tree.

The accident was reported at 1:03 a.m. and Bradshaw. He was not wearing a seat belt, the trooper said.

The death was the 183rd reported on the state’s highways this year.
