The Arkansas Parole Board has recommended that Gov. Mike Beebe pardon five Southeast Arkansas residents and turned down a request from a sixth person seeking a pardon.

The Arkansas Parole Board has recommended that Gov. Mike Beebe pardon five Southeast Arkansas residents and turned down a request from a sixth person seeking a pardon.

Those recommended for pardons have completed all of their required sentences and paid all fines and fees associated with the crimes. The final decision on whether to grant the pardons will be up to the governor.

Pardons were recommended for the following:

Tanya Shanet Hanson, convicted of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and criminal trespass in Jefferson County.

Shawn Michal Murdock, convicted of theft of property in Cleveland County and hot checks in Jefferson County.

Gloria Jean Miller, convicted of burglary and theft of property, third-degree battering and violating attendance provisions in Jefferson County.

Denisho Stone, convicted of possession of a controlled substance in Jefferson County.

Robert Keith Threlkeld, convicted of third-degree domestic battering in Jefferson County.

A pardon application was turned down for Felisha Bray Trotter, who was convicted of shoplifting, theft of property and hot check violations in Jefferson County, and two counts of theft of property in Pulaski County.

Also Tuesday, the parole board said the applications were without merit for three inmates who requested their sentences be commuted. They were:

Tavares Montgomery, convicted in Jefferson County as an habitual offender of second-degree criminal mischief, two counts of theft of property, two counts of probation revocation, and second-degree criminal mischief, aggravated robbery, felon in possession of a firearm, and three additional probation revocations.

Sammy Smith, convicted of first-degree murder in Desha County.

Jacario Cranford, convicted of criminal attempt first-degree murder, aggravated robbery and second-degree escape in Dallas County and theft of property in Cleveland County.
