A Pine Bluff man remains hospitalized after he was struck by a vehicle while walking Saturday night.

Police said Donald Slater, 53, was taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center after he was hit by a vehicle driven by Curlee Bowers at about 9:15 p.m.

Capt. Greg Shapiro reported that Bowers was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado west on West 15th Avenue when he struck Slater, who was walking near Locust Street.

Shapiro reported that Slater was treated for what were described as “life threatening injuries.”

Bowers was not issued any citations.
