An investigation into a reported stolen car resulted in the arrest of two men who allegedly took the vehicle from a car dealer's lot.

An investigation into a reported stolen car resulted in the arrest of two men who allegedly took the vehicle from a car dealerís lot.

Aaron Turner, 19, and Edward Alexander, 22, are accused of driving the car, a 2009 Dodge Challenger, through a fence at Smart Motors Pre-Owned car lot, then leaving it in the woods near Riverside Drive, Detective Steven Rucker reported in a probable cause affidavit presented in court Tuesday.

Rucker reported that the two said the keys were left in the vehicle Sunday. After driving it to Little Rock and back, they told Rucker they abandoned the vehicle and threw the keys into the woods.

Police reported stopping the men walking along U.S. 79 after the owner of the property reported finding the vehicle.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $10,000 bond for Turner and Alexander after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge them with theft of property auto.

The value of the car was not listed in the probable cause affidavit.

Both men said they would hire their own attorneys and were told to come back to court Jan. 15.
