Pine Bluff police officers working off duty in the P.J.ís Nightclub parking lot Saturday morning arrested a man after finding cocaine and marijuana in his vehicle.
Cedric Jones, 33, allegedly got out of his vehicle and urinated on the parking lot and when officers went to talk to him, they saw loose tobacco in the vehicle, Detective Richard McCorvy said in a probable cause affidavit.
McCorvy reported that the loose tobacco had been dumped between the driverís seat and the floorboard, and from his training and experience, he knew that people who smoke marijuana will dump out tobacco and replace it with marijuana in cigars and other products.
A package of cigarellos was found in the cop holder of the vehicle.
McCorvy reported finding a plastic bag containing five smaller bags with a green vegetable substance that field tested positive for marijuana and weighed 12 grams.
A second bag containing several smaller bags of an off-white substance that field tested positive for cocaine was also found in the vehicle, McCorvy said. That weighed a total of 3 grams.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $25,000 cash-only bond for Jones after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge him with possession of a controlled substance cocaine with purpose to deliver and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
Jones said he would hire his own attorney and was told to come back to court March 11.
