A man wanted in connection with the assault and robbery of an elderly man in October was taken into custody Wednesday without incident.

A man wanted in connection with the assault and robbery of an elderly man in October was taken into custody Wednesday without incident.

J.C. Cooley, 35, was identified by police as the suspect in an October home invasion during which a 77-year-old man was allegedly assaulted and robbed of his wallet.

Warrants had been issued for Cooley’s arrest.

Law enforcement officers with the Pine Bluff Police Department and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department took Cooley into custody at 11:40 a.m. Wednesday at a convenience store at Martha Mitchell Expressway and Bryant Street, police spokesman Capt. Greg Shapiro said in a press release.
