Police making a traffic stop on a vehicle for having expired tags arrested the driver for an active warrant, and reportedly found two bags marijuana Friday.

Terrance Barnett, 20, reportedly told police he was “delivering the marijuana from one person to another,” Deputy Prosecutor Maxie Kizer said during a court hearing for Barnett on Monday.

Sgt. Robert Henderson reported that the total weight of the marijuana was 2 ounces.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $10,000 bond for Barnett, who Kizer said had no prior convictions or pending charges, after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge him with possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver.

Barnett said he would hire his own attorney and was told to come back to court Sept. 10.
