Two Pine Bluff men who were arrested early Sunday have been linked to at least four burglaries in Jefferson County, an investigator for the sheriff’s department said.

A probable cause affidavit from Investigator Randy Jackson said Darius Burnett, 18, and Cameron Langel, 19, were in a vehicle that was seen at the site of two burglaries on Petty Road and a third burglary on Shannon Road.

Burnett and Langel were arrested after Deputy Dennis Kendall said a car backed up to a neighbor’s house on Hartsfield Road and knew the neighbors were not at home.

Jackson reported that other deputies went to the house to assist Kendall and they found a window broken and unlocked. They arrested Burnett and Langel at the scene.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $25,000 bond for Burnett and for Langel after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge both men with four counts of residential burglary and four counts of theft of property.

Both men were told to come back to court Jan. 15.

An investigation into the burglaries is continuing in an attempt to locate the stolen items.
