A shooting Monday night in the area of 13th Avenue and Linden Street resulted in injuries to two men, and police are trying to locate those responsible.

Lt. Bob Rawlinson said the men, DeVonte Porter, 18, and Brandon McDonald, 22, told officers they were on West 13th Avenue near the former Sam Taylor School when a white truck drove by and started shooting at them.

Rawlinson said Porter received a wound to the left forearm, and McDonald was hit in the area of his left shoulder. Both were taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center by ambulance for treatment of the wounds, which Rawlinson said “appeared to be non-life threatening.”

After the shooting, the men ran to a house in the 1700 block of Linden Street where police were called.

Rawlinson said officers had no other information about the truck such as make or model, or about the driver of the vehicle.

Anyone with information about the incident should contact the Detective Division at 730-2090 and all calls will be kept confidential.

A reward may be available for information that leads to an arrest.
