A Louisiana man was killed in a two-vehicle accident in Cleveland County Tuesday night.

A preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police said Tommie W. Robinson, 74, of Bastrop, La., was taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center at Pine Bluff and pronounced dead by Dr. Tim McClure at 6:58 p.m.

The report said Robinson was northbound on U.S. 63 in a 2005 Pontiac when a 2004 Chevrolet driven southbound by David Ramirez, 56, of Rison, tried to make a left turn in front of him and Robinson struck the other vehicle.

Trooper First Class Matt Robertson reported that Ramirez was not injured.

The death was the 495th reported this year on the state’s highways.
